Need another reason to enjoy a wholsesome cup of tea? Why not start with the health benefits? Studies show that tea from the Azores contains a high intensity of polyphenols, a potent antioxidant which gives us energy, an amount that exceeds all other teas.
These potent antioxidants found in green tea specifically have been repeatedly proven to increase cognitive functions, promote creativity, and fight Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The black tea is found reduce the risks of colorectal, brain and kidney cancer by up to 36%. Azorean tea differentiates itself from other teas because it has the highest content of amino acid, making up 30% of the dry leaves in weight!
Now, what is amino acid you might ask? Amino acids are most commonly known as the building blocks of protein, making them highly beneficial for our health. However, what makes them so crucial is that they take up a large portion of our cells, tissues, and muscle in which they are responsible for giving cells their structure as well as repairing them.
The amino acid found in tea from the Azores, has also been linked to health benefits such as treating anxiety disorder and lowering blood pressure. Amino acid naturally occurs in the body and helps dispatch nerve impulses to the brain.
Furthermore, increases in theanine, an amino acid analogue of small glutamic acids, can increase the ability to focus, recall from memory and even improve learning quality. Theaanine also helps produce dopamine and serotonin in the brain, the happiness and reward neurotransmitters.
Taking a further look at Parkinson’s disease, the long-term degenerative disorder, is primarily caused by falling dopamine levels. Consequently, this is what inhibits patients living with Parkinson’s disease in sending messages to the primary motor cortex, the area of the brain responsible for controlling the body’s coordination and movement. If these patients were prescribed Azorean green tea, they’d have a 38% better chance of treating the disease and successfully restoring their fallen dopamine levels.
Green tea also contains high amounts of a natural antioxidant called EGCG, with helps prevent cell damage, the common factor that links and causes Alzeimers and Parkinsons. There have also been numerous studies that repeatedly verify the benefits on mood and cognitive performance in people with higher levels of EGCG.
Since all of our tea is sourced 100% directly from the Azores plantation, we are thrilled to know that these benefits also extend to Teazorean Tea!
To conclude, Teazorean tea not only gifts you with a warm cup of relaxation, it also comes with significant health benefits. Thanks to the polyphenol content, Teazorean tea is one of the healthiest options for both black and green tea. Now steep yourself a cup, you deserve it.
